Green Glossary of Terms (Most common)


Biodegradable
– Products or materials that will breakdown under natural conditions such as a landfill or compostable conditions
Carbon Foot Print – A measure of your impact on the environment in terms of the amount of greenhouse gases produces.  Measured in units of carbon dioxide
Environmental Impact – Any change to the environment, whether adverse or beneficial
Fore Green Golf – Arizona’s first Eco-Friendly Golf Tournament Company.  Also known as 4 Green Golf
Greenhouse Effect – The process that raises the temperature of the air in the lower atmosphere due to heat trapped by gasses such as carbon dioxide, CFCs, and ozone
Post-Consumer Waste – Waste collected after the consumer has used and disposed of it
Recyclable – Raw or processes material that can be re-used or re-processed
Post consumer recycled – Plastic that has been previously consumer used, returned, and ground up to be remolded Poly Ethylene Terephtalate or P.E.T. is a very common by-product
